Cheryl Field's last handout, EMPLOYMENT TIPS & REFERENCES" 2015

last handout for MEBO

It was only two weeks before I went on my vacation on June 3rd that I had corresponded with Cheryl, and now she's gone. We've had our share of intimate correspondences through the years in which both supported each other through our trials, and when illnesses pushed us down, we helped each other get back on our feet again to move forward in the MEBO Mission. Even though I know she is gone, she she still lives inside those of us who knew her. I know that if it is at all in her power, she'll be up there rooting for us until we find a cure.

Among many other contributions Cheryl gave to our community, it was Cheryl’s proactive involvement in Rare Disease Day 2012 representing TMAU sufferers, which introduced MEBO to the RareConnect leadership and brought MEBO towards membership with NORD and EURORDIS. Through these organizations, countless sufferers have found a community that offers support and guidance. With Cheryl’s seemingly endless personal inspiration and with her wealth of knowledge on Human Resource and employment issues, she has empowered many sufferers who up to that time had felt totally helpless. She did so much for our community, and many of her activities can be found in the MEBO Community Blog, under Label, 'Cheryl Fields PhD."

Many lives have been touched and changed for the better, thanks to Cheryl’s endless dedication to the well-being of others. Not only was she supportive and loving to her family, she was also loving and supportive to her other family, TMAU sufferers around the world. When Cheryl offered her services to MEBO, she kindly accepted the position that was immediately offered to her of Community Outreach Director. This position allowed her to take the free reign and she flew with it. She did not hesitate to put her name on the MEBO Blogs and websites inviting sufferers to call her if they needed someone to talk to any time of day or night. She was always encouraging us to never give up, and to be like her, “Dr. Still Standing.” Somehow, when she spoke these words, we felt that she was talking to each one of us individually. What a lovely spirit she had inside of her! What healing was done through her! Her light will always shine inside each of us whose lives she’s changed. Cheryl is still with us as we move forward promoting her cause.

Please feel free to write in the Book of Memories
for Cheryl's family
